Iowa sorority girls hospitalized after falling off balcony during formal
The accident happened at the Delta Chi spring formal
Two UI students were rushed to hospital after falling two storys from a balcony during a Delta Chi spring formal on Friday night.
The accident took place at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and the girls were identified by attendees as Hannah Van Soelen, a sophomore, and junior Mackenzie Wollenzien.
Hannah, a Kappa Kappa Gamma and Mackenzie, Delta Gamma, were then transported to Lake Regional Hospital.
Deputy Trenton Teubner of the Camden County Sheriff’s Department told the Daily Iowan that he responded to a call at the Shady Gators, a rental place in the Lake of the Ozarks where Delta Chi held its formal, late on April 22.
It was reported that 40 to 50 people were at the party who were allegedly “real scared” and “upset”.
The condition of the girls is currently unclear. More details to follow.
