BREAKING: Power outage at multiple buildings on campus

Currier, Stanley, the Main Library and other campus buildings currently running on backup generators

The power went out on campus at 3:45 p.m. (CT) at Currier Hall, Stanley Hall, and the Main Library.

A spokesperson from the University said:  “We do not know why the power is out, but it has been recorded and we are looking further into it.”

They said the power may also be out at Jessup Hall, but they were unable to confirm.

Power out in Currier Hall

There’s some speculation the power outage is due to the high winds.

Currier front desk worker Elizabeth Blodgett said: “It’s pretty funny because all the residents are coming up to the desk asking ‘What’s going on? When will my power be back?

“What does all of this mean?'”

The first year Human Resource Management major said :”It’s definitely a weird feeling because it so quiet due to spring break and now there’s no power. The combo just makes for an eery feeling.

It’s also sucks because I would normally I’d be watching Netflix but I have to preserve my laptops battery because I don’t know when I’ll be able to charge it if it dies.”
