This year’s best of the IU Greek community awarded
The annual GAAP Awards were held Sunday in the IU Auditorium
Dressed in their best, the men and women of IU Greek life gathered Sunday night in the auditorium to celebrate their achievements as Greek chapters. The presidents of the four Greek associations — Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multi-Cultural Greek Council (MCGC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and Panhellenic Association (PHA) — acted as the Emcees for the occasion announcing the winners in each category.
The awards chapter and individual awards presented are based on the five pillars of Greek life. The awards honor both the chapter and individual who represent integration, intellectual development and academic support, brotherhood and sisterhood, leadership development, and civic engagement.
For your convenience, here are the different award categories and their respective winners.

Along with the actual presentation of awards, perhaps the most exciting quote of the night came from Steve Veldkamp, Assistant Dean of Students & Director of Student Life and Learning. When discussing the presence of Greek life on campus, Veldkamp stated that in 2020, during the bicentennial celebration of Indiana University Student Life and Learning’s vision is, “to become the most progressive fraternity and sorority community in the country.”
