UIUC police dog dies after narcotics sweep

‘Above all, he was a good dog and he will be missed’

According to the University of Illinois Police Department Facebook page, K9 Quinty unfortunately passed away early Saturday morning after a narcotics sweep for MDMA.

He was taken to the UI Veterinary Clinic after experiencing health problems late Friday. Sadly, nothing could be done to save K9 Quinty. After receiving news that he would not make it, his family and officers gathered for their last goodbye.

Rest in peace Quinty.

Campus police express their grievances for the loss of a dog who served his whole life to protect our campus.

In a Facebook status posted today they said: “Quinty dedicated his life to keeping our community safer, and for that we couldn’t be more thankful. Police dogs love doing what they’re trained to do, and we’re happy that Quinty got one last bust in before he said goodbye.

“Above all, he was a good dog and he will be missed.”

One last goodbye
