All Illini in Brussels are safe

The bombings at a Brussels airport and Metro have taken 34 lives and wounded many others

Of the 50 current Illinois students studying in Brussels, all have been confirmed safe.

The Tab Illinois’ editorial team, along with the rest of the UIUC community, have Brussels in their thoughts and prayers tonight as the unexpected attacks have shocked the world and left those with loved ones in the area worried.

Illinois has sent students and professors abroad to Europe and fortunately they are all OK.

The Illinois Abroad program released a statement today saying: “The Office of International Safety and Security has confirmed the safety of all students and faculty on our sponsored programs in Belgium. The office will continue to monitor the situation closely.”

Much like the Paris attacks, details about the situation are continuing to develop and will be reported accordingly. No Illinois students abroad were affected by the Paris attacks either.
