Harvard’s most fashionable freshmen: Steffan Paul

‘In times of uncertainty always overdress, rather than underdress’

Welcome back to The Tab Harvard’s most fashionable freshman contest.

Ready for another dose of FIERCE?

Today meet Steffan Paul.

I get my fashionable side from my mum, who used to design and sew her own clothes when she was younger so she’d always be wearing something new. My elder brother is my main inspiration for always trying to dress well. His policy is “in times of uncertainty always overdress, rather than underdress.”

I would say my style is a fusion of modern British street wear and 60s formal style. But it’s dynamic, so it’s slowly getting even more formal.

I’d say my favorite brand is Topman, which in my opinion boasts young and vibrant style that is empowering for the aging millennials entering their 20s, and provides them a way to stay hip but also formal.

I greatly appreciate the European cut and attention to detail, and also their love for prime materials. Especially in formal wear, minimalism is always preferred, and extravagance manifests itself in quality.
