Possible WWII style bomb found near FSU’s campus

They’re sending Air Force bomb specialists to the site

The Tallahassee Police Department bomb squad was called to the 700 block of West Madison Street this evening after a construction crew uncovered what appeared to be a World War II style bomb.

When construction workers were digging at the site, they uncovered the device and immediately called the police

TPD public information officer David Northway confirmed bomb specialists from Eglin Air Force Base have been called to the site. Northway said the safety of Tallahassee residents is their first priority and the bomb specialists will determine what steps to take next.”

Nearby apartment complexes in the area have been evacuated.
