The most Instagrammable spots on campus

While the frat house pics are Insta worthy, it’s important to shake things up

Florida State University is a University with options.  With nationally recognized academic programs and sports teams, as well as hundreds of clubs and organizations, students are given the opportunity to pursue whatever passion they may have. This diversity of not only programs, but nationally recognized programs, is what arguably makes Florida State so unique, and what makes its students so multi-dimensional.

Students at FSU can be both an avid bar-goer and a competitive student; a biology major and a radio DJ; a lover, a fighter, a hater, a blah, blah, blah…you get the idea.  FSU is awesome and it caters to the needs and desires of thousands of people.

That all being said, it’s important to mention that FSU not only looks great on paper, but also in person.  Its brick buildings and carefully constructed fountains are what really set FSU apart from the competition, and this beauty caters to a whole different crowd of people.  Who are those people, you ask?  Well, anyone who has a phone and an Instagram account.

Let’s be honest with ourselves,  I don’t think it’s any secret that the vast majority of us have at some point or another stopped somewhere on campus and thought, “wow, this setting would look so good on my Instagram feed! I wonder if Jessica would take a picture with me here when she gets out of class today…”

It’s only human: we all do it.  But even if your love for your Instagram account hasn’t caused this thought to cross your mind, I’m sure you have family members that have texted you asking for pictures of you and your friends at some point or another, and I’m sure you’ve spent time looking for the perfect place.

I get it, okay?  I too love my social media account, and I also have a family who loves to receive pictures of me and my friends.  As I said before: it’s only natural.  This love for both my social media account and my family (not necessarily in that order), inspired me to wander around campus to find some of the most beautiful (and most Instagram-worthy) places, and luckily for you, I found some great spots.  So, what are you waiting for?  Get your iPhones and cameras, gather up your friends, and give your best pose because your followers (and your mother) are ready to see not only your beautiful face, but your beautiful school as well.

One of the most Insta-worthy places is the Medical School Courtyard.  Over in the Medical School is a giant courtyard surrounded by stone stairs and beautiful brick columns.  This courtyard will serve as both a beautiful backdrop for an #OOTD or a beautiful picture for grandma.

Another Insta-worthy place nearby is the bridge right in front of the Med school, near the Psychology building.  With its vine walls and lampposts, it’s Instagram heaven.

Over behind Opperman Music Hall is a beautiful amphitheater fit for a classic venatione! Okay maybe it’s not the best place for an animal hunt, but it is a great place for an Instagram photo!

On your way out of the music hall leading to the Green, there is a small reflection point hidden away.  It’s the perfect place to sit and relax and reflect on your life.  But don’t forget, if you don’t get a perfectly posed picture of yourself reflecting on your life, did you really even go in the first place?

One of the final places you can snap an Insta pic is the Williams Building courtyard.  Its towering walls and plants make this a perfect spot to perform a Shakespearean play, or better yet, transform yourself into a top model.

Like Tyra said, it’s all about the “smize.”
