FSU’s campus will likely be without power until Sunday

The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center has been turned into a relief station

Florida State is certainly feeling the effects of Hurricane Hermine, as the majority of students, both on and off campus, are currently without power.

According to an FSU Alert, campus will remain closed until Sunday at noon.

The university has opened the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center as a relief station for all current FSU students.

The alert says: “Electrical outlets, movies, air-conditioning, snacks, beverages, other activities, and information will be provided for relief and comfort to students impacted by the storm.”

The center will remain open until 11pm tonight. A valid student ID is required to enter.

Because almost every area of Tallahassee is still in a blackout, students and residents have been driving to nearby businesses to charge their electronics and buy food. Debris on the roads has been reported, and most stoplights aren’t working.
