I let my boyfriend dress me for our anniversary

Talk about trust in a relationship

Over the course of four years, I would hope that my boyfriend has mastered my personal style. Today, I put Kevin to the test. I asked him to pick out my outfit for our anniversary dinner: Challenge accepted.

I have control issues and I had to contain myself from giving little hints about what shoes I thought went with what outfit. Kevin has great style and we normally go shopping together, so I knew he would pick out an outfit that I liked!

Here is a picture of our style back in 2012

From the beginning, he knew what he wanted me to wear…

He began his search through my closet, “Well, obviously it is going to be a dress. Sorry not sorry.” He thought dresses weren’t practical to wear to class, especially because I ride my bike to school, so I minds well wear one for our anniversary. After he said this, I knew exactly what dress he was going to pick out.

I was right! He picked out a dark blue, 3/4 length sleeved lace dress.

Now shoes…

After he picked out the dress, he asked, “Do you want to wear your new shoes?” I wanted to say yes, but for the sake of this experiment I told him it was his decision to make. So, instead of the new shoes, he picked out nude heels. However…

“I’m doing a complete 180”

Thankfully he realized that a lace dress and heels would be too dressy for our night out. So, he decided to keep the heels and ditch the dress. He then dramatically threw a pair of jeans over his shoulder while he tried to find the perfect pair.

The Outfit

“The dark jeans look really nice with the white shirt,” and he picked the shirt because I love polka-dots. Kevin wanted the heels because they are his favorite pair of mine and I never get a chance to wear them. The flower necklace was added in because of the “stupid rule of three” I have. Three pieces make an outfit, I mean everyone knows that! He also wanted me to wear red lipstick because he likes the way it looks.

Overall, I give this outfit a 9/10. It is a great outfit and I felt comfortable in it. I liked the dark jeans and the nude heels. The red lipstick will be annoying while I am eating, but it’s always a fun pop of color. AND he also used the rule of three, I taught him well.

We both had a great time doing this. Kevin enjoyed it because he got to see me wearing his “creation” and I was pleasantly surprised at the thought and time he put into creating my outfit. Now let’s hope I don’t get food on my white shirt…
