We asked you what the best part of #GatorDay is

Obviously it’s the best day of the year

We see the beautiful brick buildings every day and we can all relish in the reputation this great university has. But Gator Day is the day we can really appreciate and be thankful for our amazing school. And shamelessly spam twitter with selfies of orange and blue.

The Tab went around campus and asked students all things Gator related about our favorite day of the year.

Shame.less.ly.

When did you fall in love with UF?

Nathan Morales

“I first fell love in with UF when I stepped foot on this campus my first semester. When I first moved in it was crazy, I didn’t know where anything was, I wasn’t acclimated to any of the environments or any of the locations. But on my first day of classes I realized two things: One: It’s great to be in college and two: picking Florida was right for me and UF is amazing. I have never regretted coming here.”

What is your favorite thing about UF?

Danielle Shu

Check out those gator earrings

“I am an out-of-state student and I have always loved UF. I’m sporting these earrings that I got in Tennessee even before hearing back…I was putting some real faith in my application, I had all this gator stuff just hoping to get in. UF is like your second family.”

What does the “Gator Good” mean to you?

Anika Larortue

Update: the injury is fully healed.

“I think ‘Gator Good’ means a common well-being for every gator. Instead of seeing UF as an interim housing while we get our education, but more of a new community that we have all been invited to live in. Gator good is your inspiration to care about all of UF and see them as your family.

“One time I was on my bike, and I just wiped out. Classic freshman, can’t do anything, a whole scene [laughs]. People around me where coming to my aid, asking if I needed help. This one girl invited me into her room, fixed and retied the basket onto my bike, she helped me clean my wound and gave me bandaids…and sent me on my way. She did this random act of kindness even though she had no obligation or reason to help me. That is the gator good.”

What does being a Gator mean to you?

Peyman Jalali

Can it be football season already?

“Being motivated and making progress — and watching football.”

How would you like to see UF change in the future?

Deborah Han

“In the future I would like to see UF more united in all of the cultures we have here and I would like to see more communication between the various diverse organizations we have on this campus.”

So now I ask you Gator Nation, why do you love UF? Make #Gatorday everyday!
