Freshman Tyler Goldberger wants to help kids affected by cancer

And he’s asking for the Blue Devil community’s help

There are a rare number of times it is OK to fraternize with Tarheels, but freshman Tyler Goldberger has quite a good reason to.

Tyler is a counselor at Camp Kesem, a camp which serves kids between the ages of six to 16 whose parents have been some way affected by cancer. Tyler became involved with the camp this year after his grandmother passed away from cancer four years ago.

“I want to help campers in her honor, as she had a huge impact on who I am today,” Tyler says.

This is his first year as counselor, and he hopes to raise $500, all of which will go directly to sponsoring one camper for the summer.

He has a little less than half of the way to go, and he’s asking the Blue Devil community for help.

Tyler says, “PLEASE consider donating any amount. Like I stated before, my goal is $500, so any and all donations will be greatly appreciated! YOU can change a camper’s life through a fantastic program!”
