How to spend your DBA this finals

If you aren’t negative, this one’s for you…

It happens every term — well, at least for a few of us. People who end the term with hundreds of DBA baffle me.

Like honestly.

I can barely make it through the term positive and that’s limiting myself to the occasional, minute KAF ration. Without fail, every finals week the shifty glances to friends begin, hoping they’ll fund my rampant stress eating.

But, in all seriousness, if you’re one of these people with appetites smaller than the administration’s chance of making a competent decision, you’re going to have to spend your DBA somehow.

Undoubtedly, you will find there are only so many Hop snack bags you can bear to buy. So to help you out, here are some creative ways to drain your DBA this fall.

Give your card to athletes

Everyone seems to forget how much athletes have to eat. With multiple practices during the day, athletes need a steady stream of calories coming in just to survive. I can guarantee that if you lend out your card to an athlete, or even a team, they’ll be forever grateful.

Buy if forward at KAF

This one is a little more obvious, but if you’re rolling in DBA, why not make someone’s finals period a little easier by saving them one of their multiple trips to KAF?

KAF cakes and treat bags

Along the same thinking, if you’re not feeling totally generous, stock up on KAF’s specialty items and cakes (48 hour preorder notice needed).

 Odwallas and Odwalla bars

Easily Dartmouth’s most overpriced food items, and only worth buying if you have way too much DBA. Thankfully, Novack and Hop are always fully stocked because of this.

Vitamin Water cases

Again, way overpriced, but a surefire way of draining DBA quickly. Can be found at the Hop or Novack.

Novack snacks

This one’s a little harder to spot, but tucked away above the register Novack offers Goldfish and Crackers at obscene, but Dartmouth-worthy prices.

Be considerate and ask the person behind you if they have no DBA

As someone who’s (thankfully) be chosen for  many a randomly paid meal, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that someone covering your late night Hop stress eating session is one of the best feelings.

Good luck on finals, everyone, and happy snacking!
