Candlelight vigil for President Garrett will take place tonight on Ho Plaza
Donations for candles go towards Cornell University Colleges Against Cancer
A candlelight vigil will take place on Ho Plaza tonight at 7pm to honor the memory of President Elizabeth Garrett.
As of now, 500 candles have been purchased, according to the event page. The suggested donation for a candle is 50 cents.
Jade Womack, an organizer of the event, said: “President Garrett intrinsically cared about the Cornell community and strived to create an environment for students, academics, and others to thrive. She had a vision for Big Red Nation and her endeavors will live out far past our academic lives at Cornell. She will be missed.”
