Here’s what you missed at the Ithaca Ice Festival

Ice sculptures on fleek

Known for popular events such as Apple Fest and Oktoberfest, the Commons also brings us the annual Ithaca Ice Festival. Thousands gather to join the winter festivities as talented artists from across the country travel far and wide to carve exquisite ice sculptures for thousands of dollars in cash prizes.

This year, the winner of the Ice Carving Competition was Rich Daly, whose ice sculpture can be seen below.

In addition to the display of ice sculptures, the festival also brings many different sources of entertainment, including fire dancers, the Annual Chowder Cook-Off and Habitat for Humanity’s Annual Cookie Walk.

The top three competitors in the Chowder Cook-Off were Taverna Banfi, Collegetown Bagels and Mate Factor.

Definitely worth checking out and attending next year if you missed it this year!
