Cornell Admissions hosts first AMA on Reddit and it went as you would expect

Internet trolls came out to play

Cornell Admissions hosted their first Reddit “Ask me Anything!” today, which received over 2,000 comments from prospective students, parents and relentless Internet trolls.

“Hi, Reddit! We’re Shawn Felton, Director of Undergraduate Admissions, and Tara Bubble, Sr. Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Cornell University, and we’re excited to be doing our first Reddit AMA! We’re here to answer questions that will hopefully help you put together a better application. Ask us anything!”

The pressing questions poured in.

Some racist person made everyone uncomfortable.

Some ghosts of the past crept out of the closet.

Some math major offered his insight.

Some chic was disappointed that hotelies aren’t always attractive.

Someone demanded answers to the question that has mystified us all.

Someone thought joking about suicide was an OK thing to do.

Cornell Admissions put their foot in their mouth.

They offered advice: “be yourself”

Finally, Cornell Admissions addressed an important question.

Everyone left disappointed.
