Columbia’s a cappella group SHARP just made a video and it’s incredible

It gave me chills

Last week, SHARP just released Columbia’s very first professional quality a cappella group video.

If you haven’t heard of them yet, SHARP is the newest premier a cappella group on campus, founded in 2011.

Manny Walton, a senior in the group, told us: “We began as a team effort, and today, the team effort is still going strong. We’ve come together to build a community grounded in hard work, mutual respect, creativity, and musical spirit.”

The group, which mostly does a cappella covers of top 40 R&B hits, chose to do a mashup of Coffee by Miguel and Pillowtalk by Zayn.

Manny said their motivation for making a video of this kind was “because we’re always trying to find new ways to push the boundaries of a cappella.”

He added: “By making a cappella look a little more cool, we hope to share our joy of music with as many unlikely listeners and viewers as possible.”

Check out their website, Facebook page, and latest video.
