MBTA annouces end to late-night T service

Guess we’ll just have to walk

MBTA board members unanimously voted to end weekend late-night hours on Monday. Late-night hours are said to end by March 18th for all subway lines.

This isn’t the first cut back of the late-night service, either. Late-night hours started in 2014, but by last summer, the MBTA began to end service a half hour sooner due to poor fiscal findings. Additionally, rides on the late-night service decreased by over 3,000 rides since it first began.

Although the service is a good alternative for many people across the city, the board said they needed to cut costs. They have had difficulty carrying out maintenance work on the T, so this will hopefully help make your experience on the T better, too.

Maybe now the T won’t break down as often.
