More people have applied to BU this year than ever before

Described as a “strategic effort to raise the bar for admission,” Boston University’s mission since 2010 has been to make it even more difficult to get in. This gives BU’s Class of 2020, admitted as early decision applicants, even more reason to brag.

In the fall of 2016, Commonwealth Ave will be graced with the presence of a shiny, brand new freshman class that boasts an impressive average SAT score of 1913, and an average GPA of A-.

Since BU added on a second round of early decision applications this year, it has seen a 108 percent increase in student applications, with 57,4333 applicants. This means that 30 percent of this class is already locked in, which now forces regular decision to become more competitive than ever.
