We tried to ask BU what they think of Trump but nobody wanted to
‘I don’t want to talk about it’ – Everyone
This week the head of the Peace Research Institute in Oslo, Kristian Berg Harpviken, reported that Donald Trump among those nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Someone from the United States put Trump’s name in the running. Their justification is based on Trump’s “vigorous peace through strength ideology” regarding terrorism and national security.
Each year, more than 200 people are nominated for the Peace Prize. Although Trump was nominated, there are many other reported nominees who are more likely to win. In addition to Trump, some other nominees for this year are Pope Francis, Edward Snowden, and the Greek Islanders who are helping refugees.
Students across campus were asked what they think about this situation (and let me tell you, the results were quite hilarious).
When told about Trump’s nomination, each Terrier reacted in the same way – they started shaking their heads ‘no’ and some even hid their faces in their hands.
Overall, no one wants to talk about Trump.
