Brookline on lockdown after two shot and one stabbed

Police investigated the areas of 190 St. Paul Street and 75 Harvard Street

Sirens and helicopters could be heard up and down Commonwealth Ave as police responded to reports of a shooting and stabbing in Brookline.

Just blocks away from West campus, two people were allegedly shot multiple times and are now being transported to the hospital. One victim was found on Harvard Street, and the other on St. Paul.

After nearly twenty minutes since this story broke on the local news, Boston University sent out a message to students advising them that “police have an active investigation in the areas of 190 St. Paul St. and 75 Harvard St.”

Other local schools in the area are on lockdown.

Sophie Wilde, a BU sophomore who lives on St. Paul St. told The Tab: “It’s ridiculous that BU didn’t let its students know this has happened right away. If something such as this could possibly put our safety at risk, we should know immediately.”

According to police, there is no BU connection to the incident but students should continue to avoid the area.

Brookline police have reported the incident to have been resulted from a violent struggle inside an apartment building. Investigators were searching for a white car which allegedly left two of the victims on the street.

The victims were found outside of Brookline Spa according to the deputy superintendent of Brookline police, Michael Gropman.

Jennifer Piesza who witnessed the aftermath told The Boston Globe she was on her way to the dentist when she saw a white car driving erratically before stopping and throwing two bleeding people on the ground.

Stay safe terriers.
