The fatalities of Core

It’s basically just everyone passed out

Core.

The word alone sends chills down my spine.

For those who don’t know about this traumatizing Questrom curriculum, consider yourself lucky.

My team and I have finally made it to the end.  We’ve laughed together, cried together, pulled all-nighters together, and now we’re cramming for finals together.

We are among many..

The Fatalities of Core

Core is a combination of four subjects – Finance, Marketing, Operations Management, and Statistics – that students majoring in Questrom must take, usually in their junior year.

Students get broken into teams of nine or 10 people in their classes, and together your team and you are responsible for creating a product or service, and ultimately executing a hundred-something page business plan to present to “investors” (aka your professors).

It’s a tiring course because unlike most other college courses, Core meets every day for four hours.

Furthermore, you have presentations pretty much every week, and sometimes more than one.

Booked a team room to sleep

No one looks forward to Core because no one who has been through it ever speaks fondly of it.

I’ve been dreading the semester that I would have to take Core and here I am.
