Viola Davis will speak at Brown

She’s the Spring 2016 Lecture Board speaker

Actress and producer Viola Davis will speak Monday, February 29th in Salomon Hall as the Spring 2016 Lecture Board speaker.

Ticket lotteries will take place on the Brown Lecture Board site between 12pm and 1pm on February 24th, 25th and 26th.

The two-time Tony winner currently stars in the ABC drama How to Get Away with Murder. Last year, she became the first African American woman to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

She was selected after a vote by the University. Other options included in the poll were: Toni Morrison; Brandon Stanton of Humans of New York; Edward Snowden; comedian Fred Armisen; and Opal Tometi, Alica Garzia and Patrisse Cullors, co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement.
