Why you should join The Tab Brown this semester

Come to our meeting this Monday 19th September, 6pm, in Solomon 203

The Tab Brown has thousands of readers every month – join our team and be a part of the movement.

The Tab originated in the UK and has quickly gained popularity among international readers on university campuses overseas.

This year, The Tab is at over 70 colleges in the US, and the number keeps growing.

We are looking for new writers and team members. Here’s why you should check us out.

Sign up here.

You will get the support you need

You will have the help of our team of professional journalists at The Tab HQ in New York, who will guide you along the way and help develop your stories.

On campus, you will have The Tab Brown editors who are a great resource for advice and ideas.

You don’t have to have journalism experience

The main purpose of The Tab is to provide the framework and platform to develop talented writers.

The Tab will support you with training, internship opportunities and writing workshops to set you up with the right tools to get started. Our reporters have gone to work for Buzzfeed, VICE, and The Guardian (as well as hiring former college editors for our offices in London and New York).

It’s up to you what you want to write

From news, opinion, sports, interviews and beyond, we want it all. You can use this space to argue your stance on an issue, explore Providence’s hidden treasures, or write about what you think will affect students on a relatable level. This publication is meant for students and written by students in a style you want to read.

We provide the resources, you provide the stories.

Writing not your thing? Not a problem

Calling all videographers, marketing fanatics, event planners and photographers. There are opportunities beyond pen and paper. See something interesting you want to know more about? Send us a message or take a picture. Your idea may turn out to be our next big piece.

Convinced?

Have an idea to pitch? Click here to sign up and try it out. You will be in touch with one of us right away to talk about your ideas and how to get started.

We’re more than just a free source of really cool Tab shirts, pens, and stickers (but if you want one, flag us down. We understand that college budget).

Writing for The Tab is fun. Stories are written in a personal style, so when you reading, you’re not put off by robotic language.

Collaborate with friends, go out and explore Brown and Providence, and come back ready to talk about it.

Questions? Message us on Facebook.

Be on the lookout for our first meeting on campus – this Monday 19th September, 6pm, in Solomon 203.
