BC staff are making it rain for Clinton and Sanders
No one has contributed to Republican campaigns
The Federal Election Commission website publishes how much Boston College faculty members have contributed to political campaigns over the last few years.
We took a look at the numbers for current election cycle. The numbers show that faculty of a liberal arts college are, surprise surprise, funding Democrats’ campaigns.
In total, BC faculty has only donated $7,450 to presidential campaigns, and the numbers are overwhelmingly in Hillary’s favor. She received $6,650, while Bernie only got $800.
Two members of faculty maxed out their individual donation limit under US electoral law by giving $2,700 each to Hillary’s fund. These two contributions account for 81 percent of donations given to Hillary’s campaign by BC faculty.
Republican candidates received $0 – looks like we’re going blue.
