First Down with Richard Wilson

Eagles on the warpath

With football season in full swing, you may be looking around campus to spot the star athletes.

It may be harder to identify them now that athlete backpacks are black – so we’ve got you covered. Starting today, The Tab will be reporting a weekly interview with various members of the football team.

To kick off the series, The Tab met up with sophomore Richard Wilson, running back/full back for the Eagles.

The Bio/pre-med major discusses his experience on the team and what he’s looking forward to this season.

How you think the season is going so far?

I believe so far it has been a good season. We are coming together as a team and working out a few flaws, but overall I think it’s been pretty good.

What has been your favorite moment in your college career so far?

It will probably be when I scored my first touchdown. It was a blessing. It felt great. All of my hard work is starting to pay off.

What is your biggest goal for the rest of the season?

Our biggest goal is to get to a bowl game and [then] to Gillete.

What kind of adjustments has the team made to help prepare you for the next game?

I would say just trying to squeeze out the mistakes and try to move at a faster pace.

What game are you the most excited for?

Notre Dame due to the rivalry, and since it will be at Fenway Park it will be a different experience.

How are you feeling about your first road game for the season?

I feel the same as every game, but its nice to get out of Massachusetts so I’m looking forward to it a little.

How does it feel to be moving up on the team?

It’s a blessing and good feeling that all my hard work is paying off.
