Auburn hosts over 50,000 country music fans for the first ever concert in Jordan-Hare

Kenny Chesney headlined the Music and Miracles Superfest

Last Saturday, Jordan-Hare made history by hosting 50,430 country music fans for the first ever concert inside the stadium. The Music & Miracles Superfest was sponsored by the Chicken Salad Chick Foundation and featured music from Old Dominion, Sam Hunt, Miranda Lambert and headliner Kenny Chesney.

Kenny Chesney is known for his high-energy concerts, and this one was certainly no different. His stadium performance kicked off his “Spread the Love” summer tour.

While the gates didn’t open until 2pm, some dedicated fans were lined up as early as noon. At 5pm, Old Dominion took the stage, followed by heartthrob Sam Hunt performing top hits like “House Party” and “Ex to See.”

Just when we thought the concert couldn’t get any better, country bombshell Miranda Lambert took the stage. She was as sassy as ever with a teal guitar, singing songs about heartbreak, guns and whiskey. (Blake Shelton, if you’re reading this: Miranda Lambert is back and better than ever.)

Finally, the man of the hour, Kenny Chesney, took the stage to sing a 3-hour set with so much love and energy for his fans.

Earlier that afternoon, he gave a private concert at Lambda Chi fraternity. Chesney was a brother of Lambda Chi when he studied Advertising at East Tennessee State University.

According to the Music & Miracles website, the event’s purpose was to “help reach a goal of $1 million so Chicken Salad Chick Foundation can truly impact the lives of thousands suffering from food insecurity and those who are tormented by the emotional, mental, and physical battles of cancer.”
