Flannels, leggings and Chacos galore: Spring fashion at App State

Spring with a side of snow, that is

Appalachian State University is home to a wide variety of students, and with them, a wide variety of style. While Chacos, KAVUs, leggings and flannels are the norm, glitter, graphic tees and business casual come into the mix as well.

Here’s what a few App State Mountaineers had to say about their personal style.

Tyler, freshman, Finance

“I prefer to wear whatever is most comfortable.”

Jeremy, sophomore, Computer Information Systems

“My personal style is more like a street wear, cool-looking guy, I’d say. That’s the look I’m going for.”

Zach, sophomore, Hospitality and Tourism Management

“My style is a mix between business casual and ‘I just rolled out of bed.'”

Paige, junior, English and Secondary Education

“My personal style really just reflects on different things that have inspired me through time.”

Tuesday, graduate student, Clinical Mental Health Counseling

“I don’t follow any rules as far as style is concerned, besides what makes me feel embodied, authentic and empowered – and I love glitter and shiny things.”

Zoe, freshman, Exercise Science

“My style is whatever I wake up feeling that day.”

Avery, freshman, Finance

“My style ranges from extremely done up to I just woke up five minutes ago.”

Katie, junior, Political Science

“My style is mostly obtained from thrift stores.”
