We asked what being National Champions means to you

‘I got a really big team and they need some really big rings’

Sixteen. With the defeat of Clemson, Alabama now has sixteen national championships. Of course that means we have a phenomenal football team, but we took to the halls of campus to ask students what else being a national champion means to them.

To my fellow Crimson Tide fans: see you on the #roadto17.

Anne Madison, senior, Public Relations

“If we’re being completely honest, it’s great. I mean, we’re always number one.”

Jabari, junior, Communication Studies

“It’s just a representation of all the hard work we put in during the season and the off season. With one loss to Ole Miss, it showed our dedication.”

Paige, sophomore, Nursing

“It gives me a lot of pride and I’m thankful to go here. It brings all of us together, like a little family.”

Blaine, senior, General Business

“It’s really awesome. Since I’ve been in college, we’ve been the top team.”

Emily, sophomore, Elementary Education

“I don’t care about football, but it’s cool to have that title. I like to be able to brag about it.”

Cam, sophomore, Exercise and Sports Science

“It means we have to work harder next year ’cause you’ll be doubted. You’re the number one team in the nation, so you’ll have higher expectations for next year.”

Jay, junior, Management Information Systems

“It’s a very prestigious thing to be honored with. It represents the many traditions at UA. You know, now it’s almost a tradition to win. It’s an honor to be here when we’ve won that title.”

Mylie, sophomore, Nursing

“It gives you pride in your school and brings us closer together.”

Lauren, senior, Nutrition

“I feel like I had a better college experience because of it. I got to experience two national championships first-hand, which not a lot of people can say. It brought us closer as a school.”

Josie, senior, Fashion Merchandising

“It shows how determined and hardworking this team was. A lot of people doubted us after Ole Miss but we had to prove them wrong.”
