This is why everyone wanted Love Island USA to remove this contestant from the show
His controversial views caused chaos
Yulissa was the first to be removed from Love Island USA over her toxic pre-villa behaviour during season six, and Austin Shepard was next up for controversy. He’d reposted videos that only made him the villain of the season, meaning everyone wanted him booted off.
Love Island USA’s Austin Shepard faced controversy
Following the controversy surrounding Love Island USA star Yulissa Escobar, Austin was next in demand for the boot. People noticed that he was resharing really political views and appearing to support Donald Trump, including someone wearing a MAGA hat.
A video reposted by a TikTok account allegedly run by Austin said: “Anybody bringing up Project 2025, not Agenda47, is seeking a reason to argue and be combative. Black people, please stop falling for the same trick time and time again by liberals and the democrat party.”
Someone’s views alone don’t usually lead to someone being dumped off a villa, but Yulissa was removed for a video which showed her using a racial slur multiple times. Producers never explained why, but it was simply stated that she’d left the villa.
His account has reposted several political videos

An account believed to belong to Austin has reposted several political videos that support president Donald Trump and oppose Kamala Harris. There’s a video that everyone is mad about, that shows a Black man “destroying a Black woman who said she’s voting for Kamala”.
The TikTok page, which comes under @scottdisickstan12, also reposted a video about Trump calling for criminalisation of gender changes on children, as well as the president talking about how “everything Biden touched turned to s***”.
However, the account has not personally shared any views on Trump of his own, and rather just reshared other people’s videos. Austin was born and raised in Michigan, where Trump won the critical swing state of in November 2024. He’s since apologised for any offence.
