Jonathan Majors’ first leading role since his exit from Marvel has finally been unveiled, but instead of celebrating the actor’s return, many viewers are calling his comeback movie one of Hollywood’s biggest fall-offs. The trailer for Run Hide Fight: Infidels dropped this week, showing Majors in his first major project since he was convicted of assault and harassment in 2023 and subsequently dropped by Marvel. Once poised to become the MCU’s next big villain after appearing as Kang the Conqueror in Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Majors now leads the politically charged thriller from Ben Shapiro’s conservative media company The Daily Wire. The film follows a Delta Force veteran who joins forces with college students after radical Islamic terrorists attack a pro-Palestine encampment. The trailer has already sparked fierce criticism online, with one viewer writing, “This is f**king disgusting, baseless, heartless Islamophobia.” Another commented, “This is the greatest fall off in the history of anything ever. If you ask me how I’m doing and I say ‘Jonathon Majors’ just know my life is over.” “Jonathan Majors went from Spike Lee to the Daily Wire, I’m coughing blood son,” added a third, while a fourth chimed in, “Jonathan Majors what the f**k are you doing bro.” Others have compared the situation to Armie Hammer, who was also cancelled by Hollywood and more recently booked in a right-wing production (in his case, Uwe Boll’s Citizen Vigilante). Jonathan Majors went from the Marvel universe to straight to the Trump phone Shapirowood movies https://t.co/7IAkdTtx4n — Senor 🇵🇷 (@basedsenorito) August 7, 2026 The controversy behind the standalone sequel to Run Hide Fight isn’t just limited to the plot. Earlier this year, the film’s producer, Dallas Sonnier, defended the project in an interview with Page Six. Not only did he say Majors is “almost to the Marlon Brando, Joaquin Phoenix level,” but he also accused Hollywood of having a “woke mind virus.” “The woke mind virus has captured Hollywood for the past 12 years, and while woke is winding down, there is a new obsession with the anti-Israel, pro-Palestine movement that deserves to be mocked in a movie again,” he said. “If you’re afraid to put radical jihadis as your villains, then you’re a wimpy movie producer. We don’t have that fear.” As said, Majors was previously going to be the lead villain in the next Avengers movies, with Avengers: Doomsday formerly titled Avengers: Kang Dynasty. This would have undoubtedly resulted in a multi-million dollar payday. Following the conviction, Majors was dropped from major productions, including any future involvement in the MCU. It’s currently unclear how much he was paid for the Daily Wire film, set to air in September. For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
