My Life with the Walter Boys creator drops massive clue about Jackie’s future in season four

My Life with the Walter Boys season three has finally arrived, but on top of that, Netflix has officially renewed the hit show for a fourth season.

Actually, the teen drama was renewed before season three even premiered. So, this is the second year in a row that Netflix has handed the show an early renewal. Even better? Season four is already filming.

But that’s not even the biggest update. The show’s creator has also teased exactly what we can expect next, and it sounds like the love triangle is about to get even messier.

Netflix announced on 13th May 2026 that My Life with the Walter Boys will return for season four. Production started immediately in Calgary, with stars Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde and Ashby Gentry all back on set as Jackie, Cole and Alex.

The creator has already teased what’s coming next

While Netflix is keeping the actual plot under wraps, showrunner and executive producer Melanie Halsall has made it clear that the romance isn’t slowing down.

Speaking about returning for season four, she told Tudum, “I know I speak for the writers, the cast, and the crew when I say that it is beyond exciting to be returning to the world of Silver Falls for a fourth season. We are all incredibly grateful and are thrilled to dive in.”

Then she dropped a pretty exciting hint about what’s ahead. Halsall explained, “Our story’s about love and romance and love triangles and all those teenage trials and tribulations around those things, and we’re not going to divert from those. So much, much more of that to come in season four.”

So if you were hoping Jackie, Cole and Alex’s complicated situation would suddenly become less dramatic… that’s basically not happening.

She also thanked viewers for sticking with the series, adding, “We can’t wait to share it with our amazing audience, who have shown so much love for this show.”

So, what could happen in season four?

While Netflix is keeping the official plot a secret for now, the cast and creator have already teased plenty about where season four could be heading.

For starters, as Halsall said, don’t expect the romance to take a back seat. That probably means the fallout from the season three finale will make Jackie’s love life even more complicated. Not only is Cole’s fate left hanging after his devastating car crash, but Jackie also has to deal with Eliot unexpectedly kissing her. And according to Halsall, Eliot isn’t disappearing any time soon.

“There’s more story left to tell,” she told Tudum. She added that she wants to explore “how Eliot’s going to stick around and what kind of mischief he’s going to make.”

There’s also unfinished business for Alex. By the end of season three, he’d finally admitted his feelings for Kiley, but things were left far from straightforward. Ashby Gentry has already revealed he’d love to see Alex “go to war over Kiley” next season, while Halsall suggested Alex will need to prove himself before they have any real chance of getting together.

Halsall has also hinted there are more stories still to come for Danny and Erin after their unconventional engagement. She said, “We leave them on a bit of a cliffhanger as well. We see them at the party at the end, but we don’t know what happened. There’s a story to tell.”

So, when will My Life with the Walter Boys season four be released?

Netflix has already confirmed that season four is coming in 2027. There’s no exact release date just yet, but filming is already underway in Calgary, so production is well underway. If everything stays on schedule, we can expect to head back to Silver Falls sometime next year.

Both seasons two and three were released in August, so there’s every chance season four could follow a similar release pattern. If it does, we could be back in Silver Falls in less than a year’s time.
