A Jennifer’s Body sequel is finally on the way, but who from the original cast is back?!

People have spent years clinging onto Jennifer’s Body sequel rumours, but it finally looks like it’s actually happening.

According to horror outlet Dread Central, Megan Fox is set to return as Jennifer Check in Jennifer’s Body two, with Amanda Seyfried also expected to reprise her role as Needy.

It comes after a Production Weekly listing earlier this week suggested filming is due to begin in Vancouver this October, with original director Karyn Kusama and writer Diablo Cody both back for the sequel.

Released in 2009, Jennifer’s Body follows Jennifer, a popular high school student who becomes possessed by a demon and starts killing off her male classmates. The film wasn’t a huge hit when it first landed in cinemas and reviews were mixed, but over the years it found a massive new audience through streaming and home releases, eventually becoming one of horror’s biggest cult classics.

As the film’s popularity has grown, so has demand for a sequel. Both Diablo Cody and Karyn Kusama have spoken publicly about wanting to revisit the story, while Megan Fox has long made it clear she’d happily step back into Jennifer’s blood-soaked boots.

Amanda Seyfried has been just as enthusiastic. During a Variety Actors on Actors conversation with her former co-star Adam Brody last year, she teased: “We’re making another one,” before making it clear she wouldn’t be interested unless Fox was involved too.

Kusama has also hinted that work on the sequel is already well underway.

Speaking to Deadline, she said: “I know she’s working on it right now, and I’m very excited to hear what comes of it. I know some of the bones of it, so I’m not going to give anything away, but it sounds fun and crazy like the first film. And I have no doubt that Diablo will do something absolutely incredible with it.”

While there’s still no official release date, all the signs point to Jennifer’s Body 2 finally moving forward after years of false starts and fan campaigns.

If filming really does kick off in October, it might not be too long before Jennifer Check makes her long-awaited return.
