Tom Holland has shared a new clue about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it sounds like the movie’s title won’t actually make sense until the very end. Speaking in the newly released Generations: The Evolution of Spider-Man documentary, which launched today on Disney+, Holland revealed that fans may have been looking at the title all wrong. Disney/Marvel Studios “The ‘Brand New Day’ of this movie, it isn’t the beginning. It’s the last frame of this movie.” Up until now, most people assumed Brand New Day referred to Peter Parker’s fresh start after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. With everyone forgetting who he is, Peter is now older, living on his own and starting a completely different chapter without MJ, Ned or his old life. But Holland’s latest comment suggests the title could actually be pointing towards whatever happens in the film’s final moments instead. Because Sony has barely revealed anything about the plot, people are already coming up with some huge theories. One of the biggest mysteries is Sadie Sink’s role. Despite being one of the film’s biggest new additions, Sony still hasn’t confirmed who she’s playing. Some fans think she’ll appear as X-Men character Jean Grey, with Peter and Jean connecting over their unusual DNA. Others believe the film will bring back the Venom symbiote, which was last teased in the No Way Home post-credits scene. Disney/Marvel Studios One person wrote on Reddit: “At the end of the documentary, Tom Holland says that ‘The brand new day of this movie, it isn’t the beginning. It’s the last frame of this movie,’ and then it ends with the scene of Peter’s black eyes. “I know a lot of people thought that ending was debunked due to the ‘semi-happy ending’ tweet, but I feel like there are A LOT of ways for this film to do Peter’s ‘death’ and still end things on a semi-happy note.” Whether that’s actually what happens remains to be seen, but it’s clear whatever goes down in the final scene is expected to shape Spider-Man’s future in the MCU. Holland isn’t currently confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, which arrives this December, but fans are still expecting Peter Parker to return before long, with Avengers: Secret Wars set for release in 2027.
