Suki Waterhouse shares a rare update about raising her daughter with Robert Pattinson

Suki Waterhouse has opened up about motherhood in a rare interview, sharing how life has changed since welcoming her daughter with Robert Pattinson.

Even though Robert Pattinson is one of Hollywood’s biggest actors and Suki Waterhouse is a globally successful model and musician, the couple have always kept their relationship pretty private. They’ve been together since meeting at a games night in LA back in 2018, and don’t often speak publicly about their family life.

The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in March 2024. Since then, both Suki and Robert have occasionally spoken about how much they love being parents, but they’ve largely kept their daughter out of the spotlight.

Speaking to The Standard, Suki reflected on how becoming a mum has completely changed the way she sees the world.

“I think it’s made me marvel at our humanness. It’s so funny, even just your kid getting a fever, watching a little body recover from that, it’s brought me down to what it is to be alive and I really love that. It feels very survivalist and medieval in a way, especially birth, birth is medieval,” she said.

She also admitted the early days of motherhood caught her completely off guard.

“I’m almost two and a half years in now, but when she was first born, I remember thinking that I can’t believe everybody does this and I can’t believe how vulnerable I feel. I was crying all the time. It makes me cry now thinking about it. It was just… shocking,” she said.

She added: “It’s so f***ing weird! I’m not a cryer! I’m so not an emotional person, I’m such a Capricorn. But being a mum just fed me up in such a sweet way.

“It just absolutely broke open my heart, and I’m just madly in love and, despite my crying right now, I enjoy it so much and I’m so taken by my daughter and so in love with doing it with my partner and I just feel the preciousness of it very much.”

Suki also shared what family life looks like while she’s touring, revealing their daughter has become something of a backstage regular.

“We have the baby bus that we decorate, and she runs around backstage and has a little scooter. She’s the absolute queen of the tour. But she’s definitely into saying ‘no’ a lot at the moment, so I’m hoping that what everyone calls the terrible twos doesn’t just hit us very strongly in the middle of Wisconsin or something…”

With Pattinson spending much of the past couple of years filming, including work in London on The Batman: Part II, the family have become used to constantly travelling together.

“Being kind of everywhere, trying to stay together as much as possible but never being anywhere for that long,” she said.
