Just weeks after his ex Gigi Paris finally addressed the long-running Sydney Sweeney dating rumours, Glen Powell has gone Instagram official with his new girlfriend, Michelle Randolph. The relationship marks Powell’s first public romance since his split from Paris in 2023, which became entangled in speculation surrounding his Anyone But You co-star (more on this shortly). Who is Michelle Randolph? Credit: Paramount+ Taylor Sheridan fans will no doubt recognise the name, as Randolph has appeared in two of his shows, playing Elizabeth Strafford in 1923 and Ainsley Norris in Landman. Prior to her acting career, she was a model, having signed to an agency in 2016. She began acting in a series of low budget films before landing her gig in 1923 in 2022. The following year, she was cast in Landman as Ainsley, the daughter of Billy Bob Thornton’s character Tommy Norris. This role hasn’t been without its controversies, although mainly due to the writing more than the actress behind it. In season one, Tommy’s ex-wife tells him to talk to their daughter due to concerns she’s having sex with her boyfriend. Although Randolph was in her mid-20s at this point, her character is 17 years old, which makes their conversation even stranger. After admitting to her father that they’re having sex, she reveals a “rule” they have: “As long as he never comes in me, he can come anywhere on me.” The main scenes that are about oil business and stuff are fine so far, but this character of his daughter is one of the most ridiculous, unrealistic characters I’ve ever seen in a show. Incredibly bad https://t.co/ZFnachcUob — Broke Boy Never Young Again🌵 (@idiotavenue) November 19, 2024 In Landman season two, her character claims the use of they/them pronouns is “incorrect” based on “the English language,” which quickly earned the praise from right wing viewers. Again, this was due to the writing on the show, which Randolph reiterated when defending herself from the backlash, telling Evie Magazine, “I’m an actor… I was just doing my job on that day. I didn’t know what to do with the reaction of it. Those are the moments I try not to be online.” Her acting career doesn’t end with Sheridan shows, however, as the 28-year-old also played Madison in Scream 7. Michelle Randolph and Glen Powell go Instagram official Although there were rumours that Randolph and Powell were dating, they confirmed the news this week by going Instagram official. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Glen Powell (@glenpowell) In a carousel of photos shared to Powell’s page, the pair were seen kissing. Alongside this, there are multiple shots of the Hit Man star enjoying Fourth of July celebrations with Randolph and friends. Randolph had already sparked speculation last month when she shared her own carousel, which included a pic of her red ballet shoes standing with someone wearing brown cowboy boots. But this latest post all but confirms it, with fans celebrating the news. Even Paramount Plus joined in, writing, “I pledge allegiance to Glen and Michelle.” As said, this marks Powell’s first public romance since Paris, who recently broke her silence on the Sweeney rumours. Gigi Paris breaks silence on Sydney Sweeney rumours Credit: Instagram/@glenpowell Okay, so you all remember the rumours, right? During the press run for the 2023 movie Anyone But You, Powell and Sweeney’s flirty promo campaign led to speculation they were dating, and this only intensified when Paris and Powell broke up that year. This was despite the fact that Sweeney’s now-ex-fiancé, Jonathan Davino, were together at the time and he co-produced the film. Powell admitted in 2024 that they purposely leaned into it to promote Anyone But You. “The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry. Sydney and I have a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry,” he told the New York Times. “That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit – and it worked wonderfully. Sydney is very smart.” Credit: Sony But that wasn’t the end of the story, as last month, Paris broke her silence on the situation on the Too Much podcast. The model explained that she wasn’t happy about it, recalling the moment the dating rumours started ramping up. As she was about to travel, she said she got a call the night before where he told her not to visit the set. “He called and said, ‘The producers and I have discussed that I think it’s best that you don’t come to visit,’” Paris explained, without explicitly stating their names. “I went anyways just to look him in the eye and break up with him. But then I was stuck there for two weeks doing my jobs – and there was a rule, like, I was not allowed near set. I was not allowed anywhere near production. It was very bizarre.” Paris revealed that she broke up with the actor, and there were a lot of tears. “I had two options,” she continued. @emmastoomuch Full episode at the link in bio ❤️ ♬ original sound – Too Much Podcast “I could either pretend like I was going along with everything and have everyone wonder, like, ‘Are they hooking up? Are they not hooking up? Is she okay with this? What the f**k?’ Or stand up for myself and say, ‘No, I’m actually not okay with this, and I’m walking away.’” “I just wanted respect, especially if it’s gonna be public. Don’t make an ass out of me. Just don’t make a fool out of someone you’ve been with for over three years talking about forever with,” Paris continued. “Just have some decency, you know? And at the end of the day, it was like, well, work comes first. And if that’s the case, power to you, that’s your priority. I’ve got to walk away. What sucked was how it was handled. I felt like I was just fed to the dogs.” The model went on to criticise Powell for not shutting down the romance rumours back then. “Where are you when you just need to stand up and say, ‘No, I would never cheat on my girlfriend. I wouldn’t do that,’” she said. “That’s all that needed to be said. And that wasn’t said… Never once.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
