Simon Rex has had many jobs on the way to, and after, acting, though I don’t think anyone would assume that gay p*rn was a part of it.

The actor, who played the male lead in Scary Movie’s three, four, and five, entered the adult entertainment industry at the age of 19. In about a year, he starred in a number of p*rn movies like Young, Hard & Solo #2, Young, Hard & Solo #3, and Hot Sessions III, Hot Sessions 11 and Hot Sessions 12.

But it was relatively short-lived because then Simon Rex was scouted for modelling gigs, which saw him working with Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Levi’s, and even Versace. All that was before he even appeared on screen for the first time.

It’s quite the character arc, I must say.

Scary Movie’s Simon Rex did x-rated videos because he had to

In a 2014 interview with VladTV, Simon Rex detailed the real reason he entered adult entertainment – and it wasn’t to get his rocks off.

“When I was 18 years old, I dated a girl who was in the business [p*rn],” he explained. “I lived with her and her kid and I was in way over my head. I was working at a potato sack factory in Oakland, driving a forklift. I meet this bad girl, meaning sexy and bad news. I dropped everything, I moved down to LA with her and her kid. The kid’s calling me daddy, this three-year-old kid, I’m 18.”

A year later, the family unit was struggling.

He continued: “Next thing you know, we’ve got rent to pay, she’s doing dirty magazines, this and that. And she’s like, ‘You need to help me pay the rent.’

“At this point, I’m a busboy in LA, making $8-an-hour. Rock and roll. Rock out with your c**k out. I f*cking went there and did that sh*t. I remember it was just enough to pay the rent at the time, and I was like, ‘Damn, man, this is crazy.’ I was about to be homeless with my girl and her kid. We were about to be on the streets. I had nothing. So it was kind of like, my back was against the wall.”

Looking back, he doesn’t believe it was the best move, but at the end of the day, he was doing it “twice a day” anyway. He might as well make some money off of it.
