Millie Bobby Brown has jumped in to defend her husband Jake Bongiovi after he got dragged for not helping when the Stranger Things star was seen carrying luggage and pushing a stroller solo. Ever since the pair announced they had adopted a baby girl last year, social media users have been accusing Jake of not pulling his weight as a partner. He’s faced backlash over everything from not packing his clothes for holidays to calling her “baby mama” in an Instagram post, with some branding him a “man child” online. Other photos show her carrying the baby and a number of bags while Jake is there with no luggage, leading to comments calling him “useless”. Although the couple lead a quiet life living in rural Georgia on a secluded farm, and do their best to keep their private life private, Milly has spoken out in a new interview to defend her husband. Millie pushes back against criticism On the latest episode of Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, she asked, “When did women become incapable of holding their own bags, car seats, and stuff? View this post on Instagram A post shared by Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce (@nglwithkylie) “This stems from me holding all of my suitcases and bags and my kid, and people are like, ‘Your husband doesn’t hold a single thing.’ And I’m like, ‘Because I’m three miles ahead. I have been planning this all night’.” The Stranger Things star went on to say, “We’re all about empowering girls and like, ‘You got it. You don’t need a man.’ But then when I’m like, ‘Okay, I can carry my own things,’ people are like, ‘Where’s your husband?’” Talking about Jake, Millie said he’s the “most polite, sweet” person and “will do anything” for her. “But he also knows I’m capable,” she said, adding, “I’m not broken.” Once again, a debate has started, with one person writing, “I get the sentiment, however there’s a difference between chivalry and co-parenting.” Another said, “It’s almost like she’s missing the point… this is not the flex she thinks it is. Strength isn’t doing it all yourself, it’s letting people help so you don’t have to do it all yourself.” Millie threatening paparazzi for her child iktr pic.twitter.com/OINMirZSYY — zee (@millsdaya) November 13, 2025 “This is not even about gender,” added a third. “When one person carries all stuff, and other doesn’t carry anything, it shows they are just too self centered and lazy. It should be 50/50 or close to that in relationship or friendship for ALL genders.” However, plenty of fans are defending Millie and Jake, including this person who said, “Personally I find the comments parasocial AF and indicative of a larger issue with social media. “People see one or two images of someone and make assumptions of their whole entire life and relationship. “And the woman biting back at Millie in these comments saying she’s missing the point because her husband should be helping, maybe he helped 1000 other ways that week but the moment you saw was Millie’s turn????” Another commented, “The amount of women saying Millie is wrong here is weird. She’s entitled to her take on things. Just because you don’t agree doesn’t make her wrong.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
