*Warning: Major spoilers ahead for Euphoria season three episode eight* Euphoria was never exactly a feel good show, but the season three finale takes that to a whole new level with even more death and destruction. In last week’s episode, Sam Levinson proved he wasn’t pulling any punches. After spending much of the latest chapter having his various appendages chopped off, Nate (Jacob Elordi) was finally killed by a snakebite (after being buried alive by Naz). Euphoria episode eight, titled ‘In God We Trust’, deals with the aftermath of his death, with Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) left picking up the pieces. But the rest of East Highland’s survivors are hanging on by a thread. Rue (Zendaya) is trapped between a rock (Laurie), a hard place (Alamo), and the DEA, while Jules (Hunter Schafer) is still struggling to deal with the chaos she’s been pulled into. And let’s not forget the poor women who are trapped in Alamo’s (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) operation. As Laurie (Martha Kelly) revealed in episode seven, the Silver Slipper has been a cover for a trafficking ring. The only question left heading into the finale is which of them will make it out alive. So, who gets killed in Euphoria season 3 episode 8? Credit: HBO The main characters who die in the finale, in the other they go in, are: Laurie Rue Alamo The first main character to go is Laurie, the deadpan drug dealer who Rue owed money heading into Euphoria season three. When the DEA infiltrate her compound and arrest her men, she puts a noose around her neck and jumps off the roof – clearly she’d rather self exit than spend the rest of her life in prison. But the biggest death is and always will be Rue. We had a feeling she was going to meet her untimely end and that’s exactly what happens midway through the finale. After Alamo gives her some Percocet – a powerful painkiller containing oxycodone (a potent opioid) and acetaminophen – she goes to Ali’s (Colman Domingo) house. In the night, she passes away, with Ali finding her in the morning. He does a test on the pills, only to find they’re laced with Fentanyl. This is enough to send Ali over the edge. After breaking the news to Rue’s mum Leslie (Nika King), he heads to his final NA meeting and lets everyone know he’s done. “I’m going to find another way to be of better service,” he says, before the scene cuts to him sawing a shotgun. Later on, he heads to the Silver Slipper to get revenge. Alamo proposes a duel, and while he tries to cheat, his gun doesn’t go off. Finally, when the marker goes off, Alamo takes the opportunity to shoot. Credit: HBO In a Quentin Tarantino-esque scene, he shoots Alamo in the chest. As he lays on the floor bleeding out, Ali blows his head off “just in case.” The episode ends with Ali heading to the Texas homestead where Rue ended up in the season three premiere, as she had told him it was “the most peaceful place she’d ever been.” While there, he envisions Rue sitting at the head of the table, smiling at him.
