Following a report alleging Tom Hardy had been fired from MobLand, new details have surfaced about his on-set behaviour, including claims he kept Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren waiting for hours. The first season of MobLand was a huge success when it premiered on Paramount+, telling the story of rival criminal families played by a starry cast including Hardy, Brosnan, Mirren, and Paddy Considine. As such, it was quickly renewed for a second season, which is set to drop in 2026, and a third chapter is also in development but not greenlit. However, last week, rumours of behind-the-scenes drama emerged from Hollywood journalist Matthew Belloni. As reported in Puck News, sources told Belloni that Hardy had been fired from season three, claiming that he was difficult to work with. He allegedly showed up late, gave unsolicited script notes, and clashed with the cast and crew. But new details have now emerged from a source close to production, who told The Hollywood Reporter that while Hardy hasn’t been fired, his future is up in the air due to his alleged behaviour. They also claimed this included major co-stars such as Brosnan and Mirren, describing the move as a “power play” and suggesting that keeping actors of that calibre waiting was “career suicide.” THR also reported that Hardy allegedly clashed with producers, including executive producer Jez Butterworth and others at 101 Studios. Despite the previous firing claims, the insider said Hardy’s future on MobLand hasn’t actually been decided yet, partly because Paramount+ has not officially renewed the series for season three. However, they told THR that if the third season does get the green light, filming is currently expected to begin around September this year. Puck had previously reported that the actor was attempting to make changes to dialogue and offer script notes to Butterworth and creator Ronan Bennett.
