‘Swinging his d*ck’: Alex Hassell’s Rivals co-star reveals x-rated way he prepared for season two

Amidst genuinely great acting, an addictive plot, and Alex Hassell’s innate magnetism, Rivals is known for one major thing: Gratuitous nudity.

When Rivals first graced our screens in 2024, it quickly became clear that s*x, s*x, and more s*x would be pretty central to the plot. The recently released season two has continued with that trend, so much so that people are once again talking about Alex Hassell’s manhood.

“In the book, Rupert is said to have a d*ck that could bat bread rolls across the room and while I am okay, I wouldn’t suggest that I could bat bread rolls across a room. And so they made some [prosthetic penises],” he earlier told The Times.

“They had to be held up against my face to see if the colouring was right. The first question I was asked on my first day of filming, sitting in the make-up chair for the first time, was what colour my penis was, so they [the production team] could get on with making them. It set a precedent for the whole show as to how well we were going to get to know each other. I decided very quickly to be very respectful of everyone’s boundaries and my own, but also be very blasé about the whole thing because if I was nervous about it, it would come off on screen.”

He inevitably decided not to wear a prosthetic, but if this new interview is to be believed, the cast were already intimately familiar with his business.

In a new interview with Huffington Post, Bella Maclean and Alex Hassell alluded to some rather cheeky behaviour on the Rivals set.

Asked how he steps back into the mind of Rupert, Alex suggested “music, I guess”, but Bella had another story in mind.

“He does a 20-minute interpretive dance in the makeup trailer and we all have to watch him,” she said, laughing as she added, “swinging his d*ck around willy nilly.”

She even joked that Alex dragged *it* across the makeup table as his spectacular entrance.

“Happy Rivals season 2 day! Did you know that Alex Hassell makes the entire cast watch his naked interpretative dance to get into character as Rupert Campbell-Black?” the post was captioned on TikTok.

218 people have saved the video on TikTok, as one person commented: “They’re so cute and hilarious.”

“I’m so obsessed with this,” another said, as the official Hulu account added, “sounds about right.”
