In the new VisionQuest episodes, Vision is heading to Madripoor to rescue Tommy Maximoff, but what is the significance of Madripoor, as people think this Captain America villain is the Client. The mysterious Client in VisionQuest has been behind the bounty on Vision from the beginning, and main suspect is Sharon Carter, aka the Power Broker, who was last seen running a criminal operation in Madripoor in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. So, what is Madripoor in the MCU? Credit: Disney+ Madripoor is an island nation in Southeast Asia that first appeared in the MCU in the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It’s a place where criminals, mercenaries and other shady characters can do business without worrying too much about the law. It’s also home to some pretty powerful people who operate behind the scenes. In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes travel to Madripoor with Baron Helmut Zemo to find out who recreated the Super Soldier Serum used by Karli Morgenthau and the Flag Smashers. That’s where they meet Sharon Carter again. She was previously a government agent who helped Steve Rogers, Sam and Bucky in Captain America: Civil War. But after helping them, she was branded an enemy of the state and went on the run. But Sharon has actually built a life for herself in Madripoor. She’s secretly the Power Broker, a powerful crime lord with access to stolen information and criminal networks. By the end of the series, she gets a pardon from the US government and regains access to classified resources. So, she’s definitely someone who could be the Client. She already has a strong connection to Madripoor and its criminal underworld. Why is Madripoor important in VisionQuest? Credit: Disney+ In VisionQuest, Ultron takes control of Vision’s body and locks Vision and the other AIs out. Meanwhile, Tommy Maximoff ends up in danger after Paladin captures him. When Vision finally discovers what’s happened, he drops the firewalls to regain control of his body. But doing so also allows Ultron to escape into the internet. Before leaving, Ultron puts Vision’s body on a cargo plane heading to Madripoor. Vision now has to head there to rescue his son. And considering Madripoor’s reputation, it’s probably not the safest place for him to be. Also, Paladin is still determined to finish his contract, even after his original arrangement falls apart. Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar, the Ten Rings commander last seen in Iron Man, has also been brought in to finish the job. What do the adamantium bullets have to do with it? During Vision’s fight with Paladin, F.R.I.D.A.Y. identifies his ammunition as adamantium bullets. The metal was also a major part of Captain America: Brave New World, which explored the fight over the valuable resources found on the Celestial Island. So, it definitely makes you wonder how adamantium ended up in Paladin’s hands. One theory is that the metal has started circulating on the black market. And because Sharon runs a criminal operation in Madripoor, some reckon she could be involved in getting it to people like Paladin. It’s an interesting connection, but for now, it’s only a theory. And it’s also possible that Marvel is setting up a different character or a completely unexpected reveal. With Ultron now loose on the internet, Tommy in danger and Vision heading to Madripoor, there’s still loads to figure out.
