*Warning: Spoilers ahead for Nobody Wants This season 3* Even though Nobody Wants This is about Noah and Joanne’s love story, the couple we’ve secretly been rooting for since the very start are their reject siblings, Sasha and Morgan. And, well, season 3 gets seriously close to it, so what happened? If you remember, at the end of season 2, Esther (Jackie Tohn) announced to Sasha (Timothy Simons) that she wanted a separation. Funnily enough, she did so at Morgan’s (Justine Lupe) engagement party – the same party where Morgan realised it’s probably not the best idea to get married to her former therapist. And so both are heading into the third chapter of the Netflix series single. Early on, they continue to serve as sources of support for one another. But things turn from platonic into romantic in episode 7, when Morgan heads to New York to appear on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. Credit: Netflix Sasha tags along for the trip, and – what a surprise! – the hotel suite only has one bed. The pair spend the evening together, where they open up about how much they mean to one another. They almost kiss, but stop themselves over fears of ruining their friendship. But back at the hotel, they finally give in to their feelings and sleep together. But things get complicated in episode 8. Sasha wakes up to discover Morgan has already flown back to LA, leaving him a note and ignoring his messages. In short, she’s run scared. After speaking to Joanne (Kristen Bell), Morgan comes to the realisation that she can’t deny her feelings anymore: she loves Sasha. She tracks him down and says she wants to give it a go. Then comes the gut-punch. Her running off scared him, and he doesn’t know if he can handle this not working out either. And so, he turns her down. Are Morgan and Sasha actually over in Nobody Wants This? Credit: Netflix Although they don’t end up in a relationship for now, the cast have hinted that their love story might not be over just yet. In fact, speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, Sasha star Simons explained that if Morgan hadn’t run away, they may have ended Nobody Wants This season 3 together. “The one thing that I have thought about is if Morgan hadn’t left New York without him, I do think Sasha would have said yes to a relationship. Despite Esther finding out about it,” he said, to which Morgan star Lupe replied, “I agree.” Simons continued, “I do think it’s interesting that Sasha has a grown-up and emotionally healthy moment by being like, ‘This might be right, but it’s not the right time.’ But I still think that feeling is in there. It’s just very complicated and very messy.” And that’s not the only hint. Speaking to the Los Angeles Times about the possibility of a fourth season, Simons said there’s something “mature” about Morgan and Sasha not getting their happy ending straight away. “It doesn’t fully close that door, but it’s also just not, ‘Hey, everything’s going to be perfect now,’” he said. Credit: Netflix Tohn, who plays Esther, agreed, “The season did not end with someone being chosen, or one of them giving an ultimatum or anything. It really is up in the air.” But what about whether Morgan and Sasha are actually endgame? Well, even creator Erin Foster isn’t entirely sure. Asked by Parade whether she prefers Sasha with Morgan or Esther, Foster admitted, “I don’t know if either relationship is right long term.” She explained that Esther still has more to discover outside of her marriage, and she’s unsure what Morgan and Sasha would actually look like in a day-to-day relationship. “So it’d be interesting to explore it,” she added. In other words, Morgan and Sasha aren’t confirmed endgame, but the people behind the show certainly haven’t ruled them out. But what about Sasha and Esther? Credit: Netflix Of course, there’s one rather massive complication: Sasha ends up sleeping with Esther in the season 3 finale. The pair reconnect after Esther visits Sasha’s new place and sees how much he’s grown, particularly when it comes to looking after their daughter, Miriam (Shiloh Bearman). There’s a slight issue though: Esther is still dating Julian (Steven Weber). And things get even messier when she discovers Sasha slept with Morgan in New York. By the end of the season, neither woman is officially with Sasha, and the three are left to deal with the fallout. According to Foster, this could be a big part of Sasha’s storyline if the series returns. She told Parade that Sasha will need to look at his tendency to please everyone and his lack of boundaries, especially after hurting both Morgan and Esther. She also questioned Esther’s decision to return to something she already knows she doesn’t want. This could suggest that their night together doesn’t necessarily mean a reconciliation is on the cards. So, for now, Sasha’s romantic future is anyone’s guess. Which brings us to the next question… Will there be a season 4 to resolve all of this? Credit: Netflix Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed if Nobody Wants This season 4 is going ahead. But it’s still early days and the cast and crew have suggested they’re game if the series does return. The good news is the streamer doesn’t tend to wait too long to make a decision. Season 1 premiered on September 26, 2024, and Netflix confirmed season 2 on October 10 – just 14 days later. The second chapter arrived roughly a year later. Then, season 3 was announced on November 4, 2025 – 12 days after season 2 premiered. And, once again, it landed on Netflix a year later. Given it’s only been a few days since season 3 dropped, hopefully we’ll get an update very soon. When asked by Parade if she’s hoping for a fourth season, or if she feels like Joanne and Noah’s (Adam Brody) wedding is the perfect place to end the show, Foster replied, “I feel both. “I mean, of course, I’m so attached to this show and to the story, and would love to see it continue. But I also really honour the fact that sometimes things end before you’re ready. I do think that’s better than ending after everybody has wished that it was already off the air. “So I don’t know. I think people loving this season so much already does make me want to tell more of their story. So I’m game. I mean, I think it’s a special show, and it’s been such an incredible experience for all of us. So, it’s hard to walk away from.” Lupe also suggested there’s lots more to explore if it does go ahead, telling the LA Times, “Tim’s gonna be a busy boy next season. A lot of chitchats.” And in a conversation with Swooon, Brody made a joke about Noah and Joanne’s wedding, saying, “Cut to season 4: I’m like, ‘Don’t tell anyone [we eloped.]’” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
