Megan Fox has become the subject of cruel online comments after viral photos sparked a wave of criticism about her appearance. Not only are the comments misogynistic, but they’re missing crucial context about the images themselves. If you’ve been on social media at all over the past week, you may have seen photos circulating that appear to show the Transformers star looking dramatically different from her younger self. One particularly unflattering image has prompted people to question what’s happened to her face, with some even comparing the pictures to photos of Megan from 2009, when she was just 23. Alongside the many comments we can’t even repeat here, X has been flooded with people claiming Megan has “ruined her face” and speculating about cosmetic procedures. Era re linda pic.twitter.com/28gC71dtAw — Abril (@abrilcba_) October 8, 2026 “What the heck happened to Megan Fox?!” wrote one, while another said, “Megan the has been Fox. It’s totally beyond me why women do this. It’s unattractive.” A third added, “Megan Fox ruined her face with the surgeries. She used to be so pretty.” The original video also appears to have disappeared from the Letterboxd’s social media accounts, although it’s unclear whether it was deliberately removed or why. Here’s the thing: even if the images were legit, that doesn’t give people the right to pick apart a woman’s face, especially when she’s being compared to a version of herself who was nearly 20 years younger. But that’s not the only missing context. The viral Megan Fox photos aren’t telling the full story The images are stills taken from Letterboxd’s ‘Four Favorites’ series, and while it was posted last Thursday, October 1, the footage was actually taken in October 2025. Fox gave birth to her fourth child in March 2025, meaning she was just seven months postpartum at the time. @albinaaliyeva70 ♬ original sound – Albina Aliyeva And if that weren’t enough, at least one of the images fuelling the backlash appears to have been digitally altered, exaggerating Megan’s facial features compared with the original video. People are even using this altered image to make horrifying AI videos showing Fox meeting herself 20 years ago to compare their appearances. This is probably the most frustrating part of this whole saga. Women are told that they must avoid cosmetic surgery and age gracefully, and yet the minute they show the tiniest wrinkle or sign of aging, they’re told they’ve “let themselves go”. If they do choose to get a touch up, they’re criticised for that too. And that’s before we get into the postpartum side of things. Fox welcomed her daughter, Saga Blade, last March, having separated from her then-fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, while she was pregnant. Seven months is not a long time, and she even said that this is the first time she was able to be more present as a mother rather than having to jump straight back into work. she looks fine fake news — Ksenia (@thatksenia) October 8, 2026 Speaking to People this week, the Jennifer’s Body star said, “This is the first time I did not have to go back to work right away, so my postpartum experience has been very different. I’ve been able to really be with her the way I wanted to be.” “Having to separate from my other kids early was always really painful. It affected my mental health, and it affected my physical health as well,” she continued. “Being able to really be present with her has been something that I love, and I’m so grateful that I got the chance to do it this way.” Of course, pregnancy or motherhood shouldn’t have to be used to justify how she looks – hell, she shouldn’t have to justify how she looks full stop. Even if every single one of those viral photos were completely genuine, even if she’d never had another child, and even if she’d chosen to undergo cosmetic procedures, it still wouldn’t give strangers the right to tear her apart online. Megan Fox hasn’t ‘ruined herself’. She’s simply a woman who doesn’t look exactly as she did at 23, and the fact that this is apparently still considered a scandal says far more about the people commenting than it does about her.
