Mia Goth has filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf, following their year-long separation

Mia Goth has filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf nearly a decade after the pair first tied the knot. The 32-year-old actor filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, saying she and the 40-year-old LaBeouf have been separated since July 2025.

Goth is asking for primary legal and physical custody of the couple’s four-year-old daughter, with visitation rights for LaBeouf. She has also asked the court to deny spousal support to both parties.

The pair first met while working together on Nymphomaniac: Vol II in 2012 and began dating shortly afterwards. They got married in 2016, but their relationship has had several twists since then.

In 2018, Goth and LaBeouf split and said they were getting divorced. However, they remained legally married and eventually reunited in 2020. They welcomed their daughter in 2022.

Goth’s divorce filing comes during a period of further legal trouble for LaBeouf. Just one day before Goth filed the petition, LaBeouf settled a lawsuit with singer, songwriter and actor FKA Twigs for the second time.

FKA Twig had sued LaBeouf in 2020, alleging that he emotionally and physically abused her during their relationship. LaBeouf has also faced legal proceedings over an incident during Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

In June, he was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to punching three people outside a bar during the celebrations. He had faced additional legal trouble following his arrest in February in connection with a Mardi Gras brawl.

LaBeouf pleaded guilty to three counts of simple battery in June.
