Dexter Morgan is back for more bloodshed. Oh yes, Dexter: Resurrection season 2 is arriving just in time for Halloween. But there’s a slight change to the release schedule that you’ll want to take note of. Michael C. Hall returns as everyone’s favourite morally questionable serial killer, whose story is somehow still going strong two decades after Dexter first hit our screens. After surviving being shot by his own son in New Blood, Dexter headed to New York City in the first season of Resurrection, hoping to reconnect with Harrison (Jack Alcott). And things didn’t exactly go smoothly. When it comes to season 2, there’s a lot to be excited about. Firstly, Uma Thurman’s back as Charley. But there are also some exciting newcomers, including none other than the legend who played Logan Roy, Brian Cox. And let’s not forget scream king Dan Stevens. So, without further ado, here’s when and where to watch it, as well as a brief refresher on what went down at the end of season 1. Here’s the Dexter: Resurrection season 2 release date and time Credit: Paramount+ Dexter: Resurrection season 2 episode 1 will be available to watch on Paramount+ Premium on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 12am PT / 3am ET. If you’re watching on cable, you’ll be able to catch the premiere on Showtime at 8pm ET / PT. Here’s where the change comes in: unfortunately, season 2 is only dropping one episode for its premiere. If you recall, season 1 had a double-episode drop to start with. Thankfully, it’s not a huge difference and episodes will continue to roll out each week without gaps. If you’re outside the US, there’s good news, as Dexter: Resurrection season 2 will also be available on Paramount+ in many countries worldwide. Paramount itself hasn’t confirmed the exact time the premiere will drop in each country. But based on the previous season and its usual release pattern, we’ve estimated and listed several timezones below so you know roughly when to tune in: 2am CT (Central Time – US and Canada) 4am BRT (Brasília Time – Brazil) 7am GMT (Greenwich Mean Time – UK and Ireland) 8am CET (Central European Time – Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland) 6pm AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time – Australia) The full release schedule As said, there’s a slight difference in the release schedule when it comes to the premiere. But after that, we’re getting weekly episode drops just like season 1. Even better, there are 10 new episodes just like the first chapter, with the finale airing on New Year’s Day. Yep, it seems even serial killers aren’t immune to a midlife crisis. It’s the start of a new chapter for his son Harrison too, as he begins his NYPD career. What could possibly go wrong with a serial killer’s son becoming a cop? Oh, and there’s also a brazen new killer putting the city on edge. According to Dexter Daily, the premiere has a runtime of 50 minutes. What happened at the end of Dexter: Resurrection season 1? Credit: Paramount+ Well, quite a lot had happened by the end of season 1. Billionaire Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage), who’d been hosting secret gatherings for serial killers, discovered Dexter’s true identity as the Bay Harbor Butcher. Prater also shot and killed Dexter’s former Miami Metro colleague Angel Batista (David Zayas), who had spent the season trying to expose Dexter. Prater then locked Dexter inside his vault of serial killer memorabilia. Thankfully, Harrison came to the rescue, sneaking into Prater’s gala before injecting the billionaire with a sedative. Dexter subsequently killed Prater, dismembered his body and dumped the remains in New York Harbor. Lovely stuff. Meanwhile, Charley (Uma Thurman) discovered Prater had been secretly keeping evidence of the crimes she’d committed on his behalf. She quit working for him and left New York with her sick mother. As for Dexter, he escaped aboard Prater’s yacht, taking files containing information about other serial killers. But he deliberately left behind a file identifying the notorious New York Ripper as Don Framt, which the NYPD discovered. We last saw him living his life with Gigi (Emily Kimball), although it looks like they’ve split by the second chapter. Dexter: Resurrection season 2 picks up three years later, with Harrison now 21 and beginning his career with the NYPD. Meanwhile, Dexter is still hunting killers, but he’s also dealing with something he can’t exactly stab his way out of: a midlife crisis. And with two dangerous serial killers on the scene, it looks like the Morgans have plenty more trouble ahead. Featured image credit: Paramount+ Post navigation Next storyPrevious story
