Michael Jackson’s eldest son Prince Jackson has been in the headlines of late due to the new biopic about his dad, which has sparked interest in the late singer’s life. Although his sister Paris Jackson has been critical of the movie, Prince has been heavily involved in its production, serving as executive producer and showing support for his cousin Jaafar Jackson – who plays Michael. The film itself tracks the King of Pop’s life from the ‘60s and the start of his music career in the Jackson Five, and while the original edit ran up to the 1993 child sexual abuse allegations, this entire section had to be reshaped and removed. Instead, the film ends in 1988, at the height of Michael’s fame. This also means we don’t learn more about his children. For decades, rumours circulated that the singer wasn’t the biological father of his three kids due to their appearance. Michael’s friend, Jason Pfeiffer, alleged in a 2013 interview with the Mirror that Michael confessed before his 2009 death that actor Mark Lester was the father of Paris and Prince. “Michael calmly said, ‘My friend Mark donated the sperm’. I was taken aback, but I didn’t think to ask anymore questions about the procedure,” Jason claimed. Additionally, Arnold Klein – Michael’s former dermatologist – has been the subject of speculation. In an interview with Larry King after Michael’s death in 2009, Klein said, “I still can’t answer [the paternity question] absolutely one way or another.” He also confirmed that he had donated sperm in the past, but that he didn’t exclusively donate it to Michael. The allegations surrounding the paternity of Michael’s children have never been verified and the singer publicly maintained that he was the biological dad during his lifetime. Paris also shut down the speculation in a 2017 interview, and two years prior, Prince did the same. Prince Jackson shut down claims about Arnold Klein He addressed the issue on social media when an X user tagged him in a post and wrote, “Everyone knows you are a Rowe-Klein NOT A Jackson! Yall should stop trying to put on a FAKE front and get real.” "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" I was raised by my dad with my brother and sister. https://t.co/0Ofs2vrnZs — Prince Jackson (@princemjjjaxon) October 6, 2015 Prince replied, “‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb’. I was raised by my dad with my brother and sister.” This comment in itself led to further rumours, as many perceived it to mean Michael isn’t the biological father, but rather the man Prince considers his true dad because he raised him. A few weeks later, Prince clarified in a follow-up tweet that he believes Michael is his bio dad. “Ok so I guess everyone took my last tweet and twisted it around (as usual),” he wrote. “My dad is my dad through and through same with my siblings.” Ok so I guess everyone took my last tweet and twisted it around(as usual) my dad is my dad through and through same with my siblings. — Prince Jackson (@princemjjjaxon) October 29, 2015 He added, “The tweet was just to let the people who would like to argue otherwise that their accusations don’t phase me or my siblings.” Prince speaks about growing up with Michael Jackson as his dad More recently, Prince opened up to Sunrise about how his childhood growing up at Neverland Ranch was “not normal” due to his father’s fame, but that Michael was an “awesome” dad. “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that a lot of what I think is normal life is not normal life,” he said, before saying Neverland “truly was and is magical. It felt like your own personal Disneyland.” Prince added, “He was always on our level in a way, but he made it a point that he didn’t want people to speak to us as children. He wanted them to speak to us as an adult.” As for Michael’s efforts to keep his children out of the spotlight, Prince said, “I understand why we had to live the way that we did. And I also see a lot of effort that was put to kind of mitigate that isolation.” For all the latest film and TV updates and hot takes, like our Facebook page.
