Erm, what? Chloë Grace Moretz just got married to a gorgeous photographer in secret

Child star turned leading lady, Chloë Grace Moretz, got married to her longtime girlfriend, Kate Harrison, earlier this week in a swanky ceremony in Paris.

Having booked her first acting gig in 2005’s The Amityville Horror, many of us feel as though we’ve grown up with Chloë Grace Moretz. We were there when she jarringly said “c*nt” in Kick Ass, age 12, and the low-key iconic way she came out – or didn’t – in 2022. You see, while she did identify as a “gay woman” in an Instagram post, she said: “I don’t see myself as a homosexual, I don’t see myself as anything.”

Though she famously likes to keep private about her personal life, here’s everything we know about her wife, photographer and model Kate Harrison, and their gorgeous wedding day.

Kate Harrison is a model who has worked with the likes of INEZ, JEMIOL, and Lands’ End. She also runs The Testing Network, a modelling portfolio management site. In more recent years, Kate has dedicated a huge amount of time to photography, her style a striking balance between black and white photography and colour shots.

Kate Harrison has two Instagram accounts if you fancy some casual internet stalking, the first being her main handle @thekateharrison with 126k followers. Her other account, @katelapriel, is largely for her photography work.

Long before their wedding, Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison were pictured on what many assumed to be a date in Malibu back in 2018. Besides some pap pictures and the occasional tease on Instagram, we didn’t hear anything else until 2022 when Chloë dished that she was “in a long-term relationship” but wanted “to keep my private life private.”

The celebrity couple went Instagram official in 2023, posting Valentine’s Day pictures together and starting what would be many public appearances. Things then got more exciting in January of this year when they revealed sparkly engagement rings on Instagram.

“Happiest New Year. So thankful for what this year has brought. The people, the places, our families, our health, our love. Wishing all of you a peaceful start to this new year,” Chloë captioned the post.

Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison’s wedding was just a few days ago

After almost seven years together, keeping to themselves and being unproblematic, Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison’s wedding was held on Labour Day weekend. It was an intimate friends and family affair, but with Vogue, of course.

The news was announced by Vogue alongside a stunning array of photos in their wedding dresses, designed by Louis Vuitton. Chloë dressed in a light blue dress for the ceremony, swapping it out for a white jacket, white trousers, and a cowboy hat for the afterparty.

“A big part of the wedding [is about] sharing things that Kate and I love with everyone that’s going to be there,” she told Vogue. “So there’s fishing, horseback riding and poker. Kate made a custom poker mat herself, so we’re going to kind of be leaning into it. Our second day is going to be line dancing and everything.”

Chloe broke the news on her Instagram after the article dropped, writing: “Words can’t begin to express how this feels. Thank you @nicholasghesquiere @louisvuitton. Your generosity, artistry, dedication and kindness knows no bounds. We feel so incredibly grateful. Thank you doesn’t even begin to cut it, but, thank you. Your vision made our day all the more meaningful.”

Naturally, a flurry of celebrity faces wished the happy couple their best, with Sophie Turner responding, “UNNNNNNNBELIEVABLE. Congratulations, you angels.”

“Omggggg congrats! Stunnning,” Lily Collins wrote, as Maude Apatow added, “So beautiful.”

First Derry Girls’ Saoirse-Monica Jackson, and now Chloë Grace Moretz, I’m loving all these strikingly original wedding plans.
