Omg, people have spotted a Wicked Easter Egg in one of Ariana’s old music videos
It was released months before the film
Wicked is still all everyone is talking about, and it turns out Ariana Grande was dropping movie spoilers long before it came out.
People have spotted a secret Easter Egg in a music video she released back in June, more than five months before the release date.
It’s in the music video for “the boy is mine,” the third single from her seventh studio album Eternal Sunshine.
The video sees Ariana turn into a cat and You’s Penn Badgley plays a newly elected mayor who has released felines to solve the city’s rat infestation.
It also features fellow Victorious actress Elizabeth Gillies, who voices the rats.
Around halfway through, cat Ari walks across a city skyline at night and one of the billboards has a blurry Wicked poster on it.
It’s the famous poster where Glinda and Elphaba are reaching their arm out to each other, and the word “Wicked” is in the middle in big letters.
The scene is a nod to Michelangelo’s Creation Of Adam, a famous painting in Rome’s Sistine Chapel that depicts the moment God created Adam.
Some eagle-eyed people spotted the Easter Egg when the video was released, but it’s gone viral again following the film’s release.

There are loads of Easter Eggs in Wicked too, many of which are subtle links to the original Wizard of Oz film.
The opening titles are exactly the same as the 1939 movie, and Ariana taps a pair of ruby slippers three times during “Popular”.
Dorothy and Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion all make a cameo, and the chickens playing the piano is a nod to the Wizard of Oz writer who bred chickens.
