Vanderbilt student found dead in dorm room

The 20-year-old was found this morning

Around 2am a 20-year-old male was found dead on the third floor of a dorm room on Vanderbilt University’s campus.

An email from Vanderbilt University to the student body from the Dean of Students, Mark Bandas, has confirmed the deceased student as Elliot Meister.

Elliot was a sophomore in the School of Engineering and an active member of the AEPi fraternity.

According to the Washington Post, paramedics responded to the scene and were unsuccessful in their attempt to revive the student with CPR.

The dorm was located at the intersection of West End Avenue and 23rd Avenue North.

Our deepest condolences go out to Elliot’s friends and family, and our thoughts are with them in what is inevitably an impossible time.
